Hello friends,
I am graduate of speech pathology from the university of california,and also a practising speech pathologist.I grew up admiring news presenters at CNN and other international news channels and wanted to start a career as a broadcaster,but stuttering changed all that dream.
I had vowed then that i would do everything within my disposal in my generation to help bring an end to this evil disorder that has left millions around the world traumatized,having witness first hand what it can do to a growing child....the loss of confidence,social disorder,pshycological disorder which could lead to mental disorder.
This is what led me to the university of california to study speech pathology rather than mass communication.Over the years in the united states,very little has been done in the area of research to find a possible cure for this disorder.
Elsewhere in the world notably Africa,nothing has been done by government and individual,people do not see it as a serious disability,parent abandon their children to their cruel fate hoping they will outgrow it , not aware help could be rendered to those children.
My last visit to Ghana confirmed this,i witness a family of 8 children with severe developmental stuttering with none to help them,speech therapy and other tested treatments could have brought things
under stable condition.I have decided to offer myself as a foot soldier in the battle to help these African children realized their destinies which have come under attack by a force higher than them.
I am taking my skills,experience and expertise to Ghana,Nigeria west africa as base to spread my tentacle to the African continent,raising awareness about stuttering treatments and cure available and the danger of leaving developmental stuttering untreated in children and adult alike.
I therefore need your financial support to help me achieve this noble goal
My goals are;
1.Administering stuttering therapies free to individual and group.
2.Treating developmental stuttering that runs in family.
3.Encouraging understanding in people who meet those who stutter.
4.Developing potent therapies from their own local environment to help cure stuttering.
5.Encouraging parental understanding,love,care and special treatment to those who stutter.
6.Creating local self-help groups and association to help control stuttering.
7.Training emergency speech therapies to help administer therapy in their own local terms.
8.Creating research institute to further the work of stuttering research.
9.Creating different forums connecting people living with stuttering to share ideas and tips that works.
10.Enforcing parent child interaction therapy.
11.Creating nation funds to sustain stuttering research.
12.Training stuttering to speak fluently and with confidence.
